The fruit-seller

An old man in tattered clothes
Sells fruits in a handcart;
A dim oil lamp aids his aging eyes
While the town is brightly lit.

A few minutes, and there is darkness-
People around him are annoyed
By frequent power-cuts.
For the brief interval
Before the town is illuminated again
With generators and inverters,
Who bears the only light in the town?
The old man in tattered clothes.
